Slope the trench
Minimum 1% slope (1" per 8 ft) so water actually flows.

Wrap with fabric
A nonwoven filter fabric keeps fines out of the void space.

Surround the pipe
4" of stone below, 4-6" above the perforated pipe.

Backfill carefully
Top with native soil or sod; do not leave the stone exposed long-term unless intended.
