How to install Playground Sand

Excavate to depth
For pavers, dig 4-6" below finished grade; for masonry, just enough for joints.

Screed for paver base
1" of bedding sand, screeded level, is the gold standard under interlocking pavers.

Don't over-compact
Sand bedding is loose by design; compacting eliminates the leveling cushion.

Sweep joint sand last
Polymeric joint sand locks pavers; sweep dry, then mist to activate.

Paver bedding too
Used 4 tons as a bedding layer for a small patio and for a sandbox at the same time. Screeded nice and level over the base and the pavers set well. Clean sand with a consistent grain, white to tan. Truck backed into a tight spot beside the garage without any drama. Next time we top up the sandbox this is where I am ordering from.

Kids love it
We put 2 tons of this playground sand under a wooden play structure and the kids have not stopped digging since. It packs a little when wet then loosens right back up. Very little dust when I was shoveling it. Easy ordering and the pile landed exactly where I asked, off the grass and against the fence.
