Description
3/8″ Crushed Stone is small, angular gray stone, all around 3/8 inch. The faces are sharp and jagged, so it interlocks better than rounded pea gravel of the same size.

Quick tip
For a layer under pavers, keep the depth even and avoid fines in the pile by raking out dust. Tamp thin layers lightly. When it is used as a path surface, expect the small pieces to track onto grass without edging.
The small size slips easily into narrow gaps, so it is useful where larger rock will not fit. Compared with rounded pea gravel, it holds its position better under footsteps. Sweep extra stone off paver faces so it does not scratch the surface. A broom and a bucket make cleanup quick once the joints are filled.

Dusty but does the job
Used 4 tons as the final top layer on a crushed stone driveway over a coarser base. Packs down tight and rides smooth, way better than the loose rounded gravel that was there. There were more fines than I expected, so the first week was pretty dusty until a couple of rains settled it. Delivery itself was easy, the driver dropped it in the spot I flagged.

Dog run finally clean
We had a mud pit where the dogs ran. Laid fabric and spread 3 tons of the 3/8 inch crushed stone about three inches deep. Small enough to be comfortable on paws, big enough not to track into the house much. Drains fast, hose it off and it is clean again. Driver called before arriving and dumped right on the tarp by the side gate.

Garden paths
Two tons for the paths between our raised beds. This 3/8 stone rakes out level in minutes and firms up under foot after a few days, so the wheelbarrow does not sink. Gray color looks tidy against the cedar beds. Delivered on time, nice driver, and he was careful backing past the flower bed by the driveway.
