About 3/8″ Natural Pea Gravel

3/8″ Natural Pea Gravel is a collection of small, smooth, rounded stones in a blend of earth tones. Because the pieces are rounded, it feels gentle underfoot.

Often chosen for

  • Playgrounds and play areas
  • Dog runs and kennels
  • Patio and path surfaces
  • Around plants and in planters

What to expect

Round stones shift under pressure, so place a border around the edges and use a few inches over fabric. It will not pack firm like crushed stone, which is useful for a loose surface but tough for wheelchairs or strollers.

Pea gravel is light enough to spread with a rake, and the color blend looks natural next to plants. Stones can be kicked out onto lawns, so a border helps. For a firmer surface, choose a crushed product and keep pea gravel for play and decor.

It is sold by the ton and each order has a 2 ton minimum. Enter a ZIP code and the price delivered to your address appears on this page.

    Nice color, moves around

Three tons for a path and a fire pit surround. Color is great, warm mix of browns and grays instead of flat gray. Just know this stuff does not lock in like crushed stone. It rolls underfoot and migrates without a good edging, and I ended up adding steel edging after the fact. Delivery was smooth, tight cul-de-sac turn and no issue.

    Patio and walkway

Landscaper here. Used 6 tons on a client's casual patio and connecting walkway over a compacted base. The 3/8 pea gravel is small enough to walk comfortably on and settles in nicely after a soaking. The mixed earth tones photograph well for my portfolio, honestly. Load arrived in the window, driver backed in tight and kept the pile off the new sod.

  3. Lorraine D.

    Garden bed mulch swap

Replaced bark mulch in the front beds with two tons of the natural pea gravel. Spreads with a rake in no time and looks clean around the boxwoods and the hostas. No more fading or replacing every spring. Weed fabric under it and a few months in, still tidy. Driver was friendly and placed the pile neatly at the curb like we asked.

  4. Ashley P.

    Play area the kids love

We put down 5 tons of pea gravel for a play area under the swing set. The rounded stones are smooth, no sharp edges, and the earth tone mix of tans and browns looks natural next to the lawn. It stays loose so it cushions falls, and it drains, so no more mud after rain. The driver called ahead and dropped it right where the tarp was.
