How to install Concrete Sand

Excavate to depth
For pavers, dig 4-6" below finished grade; for masonry, just enough for joints.

Screed for paver base
1" of bedding sand, screeded level, is the gold standard under interlocking pavers.

Don't over-compact
Sand bedding is loose by design; compacting eliminates the leveling cushion.

Sweep joint sand last
Polymeric joint sand locks pavers; sweep dry, then mist to activate.

Screeds like butter
I run a small hardscape crew and we go through a lot of bedding sand. Ordered 10 tons of concrete sand for two walkway jobs in the same week. Consistent grit, washed clean, no clay balls, and it screeds evenly so the pavers don't rock. Being able to pick the tonnage online and get it to the job site without babysitting the delivery is why we keep coming back.

Leveling an above ground pool
Got 4 tons of this sand to level the pad for a 24 foot above ground pool. It rakes smooth and packs down firm with a lawn roller and a bit of water, and there were no pebbles or clumps to poke through the liner. Truck backed down our driveway fine and the driver called before he left the yard. Pool has been level all summer.
